Job Description:
(Manage internal/external public communication for the whole district.
) Develop, maintain, and execute results-driven communication strategies that support and uplift the district mission/vision.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Public Relations:
Plan and coordinate ongoing public relations initiatives which promote goodwill and awareness of programs/services and the attainment of career center objectives.
Strategic Communications:
Work with the superintendent, administrative team and the board of education to develop communication strategies that support the short and long-term goals of the district.
Publicize information that supports local awareness of the District's goals, objectives and achievements.
Write, edit and produce high-quality, on-message content for UVCC print publications and multimedia outlets.
Oversee the design and content delivery of the Districts website.
Implement social media strategy that provides responsive and timely messaging/storytelling which highlights student accomplishments, promotes opportunities, and communicates critical information.
Create content for talking points, articles, and speeches for the use of administrators and the Board of Education.
Oversee the production of video content for the District websites and general distribution.
Community Relations:
Serve as a liaison representing goodwill between the District and the community at large.
Represent the District with participation in business and civic community events.
Maintain the District's VIP and key contacts database.
Media Relations:
promote good relationships with local and regional media representatives.
Respond to media inquiries and issue media alerts, releases and statements as directed by the Superintendent.
Maintain a database of news media contacts.
Event Planning:
Support the team effort developing and overseeing internal and external events that bring positive attention to the District.
Coordinate alumni recognition events.
Oversee the photographic and videography of school programs and events.
Maintain a District media library and historical archive.
Brand Management:
Cast vision and implement an overall brand identity that communicates the vibrancy of career and technical education for adult and high school students at Upper Valley Career Center.
Develop and maintain corporate branding guides for print and digital media.
Provide training and templates for staff and faculty use that provides access to information and know-how to meet District goals for excellence in messaging.
Other Duties:
Provide support and consultation as requested by the Superintendent and Administration in publicizing and promotion of enrollment, events, exhibitions, advisory committees and/or other special programming.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with federal and state law and local board policy with respect to all areas of responsibility.
Establish Department's Annual Budget, and work with the administrative support team to requisition, purchase and release funds for accounts payable in compliance with Board policy and state law.
Work within the annual budget to the department budget to purchase services, paid advertising and provide collateral marketing materials within.
Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance.
Take precautions to ensure safety.
Initiates action to manage/eliminate risks.
Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.

Public relations skills substantiated by training, work experience, and/or degree.

Copywriting, news writing, layout, design, and illustrations of print and digital publications.
Videography, editing, and production.
Website design, content management, search engine optimization (SEO), and user experience (UX) design expertise providing accessibility for all audiences.
Photography for print illustration and digital publications.
Proficient in social media platforms.
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the District Professionals Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience.
Starting salary will range from $65,068.
00.
00 (Class V, Step 0) to $78,074 (Class V, Step 5).
Base contract is 260 days with flexibility.
Minimum workday is 7.
5 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break.
One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.
