Basic Function:
The focus of this position is to maintain and grow existing customer base as well as developing new customers and markets worldwide for hardwood lumber sales.
This role will also coordinate sales information between the sales office and lumber yard.
This position with focus on growing accounts and developing prospects through direct contact in the form of travel, phone calls, and email.
Assists and supports in the development of new hardwood lumber markets, products, and strategic initiatives to grow and expand the business.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develops new markets for hardwood lumber on a domestic and international basis.
Identifies specific market and account opportunities, develops and executes selling plans to focus on targeted markets and accounts.
Develops a full understanding of current marketing programs.
Develops a full understanding of our products and processes and works directly with the procurement team, operations teams, and finance.
Works with Vice President of Sales to establish and prioritize a list of target accounts.
Maintains and grows existing and new customer base.
Coordinates sales information between sales office and lumber yard.
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates personal sales goals and objectives.
Influences and manages positive customer relationships.
Conducts strategic market analysis to enhance and develop, implement and improve profitability and future growth.
Sales trips - Travel can be up to 25-30%, including international travel.
Supports and drives strategic initiatives to grow sales and expand the business Assists management on special projects as identified and assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Management, Marketing, Business or related field Preferred 2- 5 years of sales experience required Experience in the Hardwood Lumber Industry a plus Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, both written and oral.
Demonstrated record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment.
Outstanding relationship skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
Must have strong time management and organizational skills; candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured, evolving environment.
Expert in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is a plus Job Type:
